Storyboard Text

  • Hi! I am Bob from Jupiter. I am moving to planet Earth and am new around here so I don't know why there is such a mess?
  • Wassup' Bob. I'm Aahil. This mess you are seeing is the aftermath of a tornado.
  • What is a tornado?
  • Let's go inside the house, so we don't get hit by a flying branch. Once inside, i will tell you all about tornadoes.
  • Alien Bob flies onto Earth. He is confused about what has happened and why there is a mess.
  • A Tornado is a violent rotating column of air. It has the appearance of a funnel-shaped cloud and advancing beneath a large storm system.
  • Hmmm, Interesting. How are tornadoes formed?
  • Good Question. A Tornado forms when changes in wind speed and direction create a horizontal spinning effect within a storm cell. This effect is then tipped vertical by rising air moving up through the thunderclouds.
  • Do tornadoes happen all over Planet Earth?
  • Tornadoes happen mostly in North America, where we are right now. They tend to take place in the Great Plains of Central United States.
