Storyboard Text

  • Your writing assignment will be due next class.
  • Sounds good. I will be sure to complete it on time.
  • *Brainstorming ideas and identifying writing strategies for assignment*
  • - Idea #1 - Idea #2 - Idea #3
  • When I get home I will immediately begin my research and write my rough draft.
  • Assignment is assigned in class by instructor.
  • I really don't want to do this assignment. I guess I have no choice, though.
  • Title
  • When I find free time, which may be between classes, I begin brainstorming. I also think about how I am going to execute the completion of my assignment.
  • Of course!
  • Hey mom. Can you please read my rough draft so that I can receive a second opinion before revising it?
  • Draft completed
  • On my way home I tell myself that I will get the assignment done immediately. If I don't, procrastination and distractions will take over. Then, before I know it, I will be working on my assignment the night before it is due.
  • Final Draft
  • FInally! I finished my writing assignment. I cannot wait to hand it in and get it over with. Hopefully it meets the expectations of my instructor.
  • When it comes time to begin my assignment, I usually complain to myself about how I do not necessarily want to do the assignment as there are other things I would rather be doing, but eventually I begin my first draft.
  • Asking for peer review of my writing after creating a draft is the next step once I re-read it myself. This gives me a second opinion and helps me when it comes time to revise for my final draft.
  • Lastly, I give myself enough time to clear my head by going to the gym or eating a meal before coming back to the assignment to revise it. Now that I have a fresh mindset, I can complete my writing piece and hand it in when it is due. I always feel accomplished and relieved when I finish writing.
