Israel and the Cold War by Garrett Trostle
In the beginning Israel tried to stay neutral in the cold war. Both Russia and the US provided diplomatic aid to Israel.
In 1967 Israel launched an attack on Egypt, who was backed by Russia. It was a six day war, and during this time the US stopped its financing to the Aswan High dam in Egypt.
The reason for this invasion was because Egypt shot down six of Israel's planes. The battle then pre-tained over the Suez Canal
To this day there is still tension between the Israeli's and the Arab's. There has been only small altercations between the two groups.
