They arrived at Roanoke island on July 22, 1587. They found Roanoke Island deserted and with a demolished fort. The only thing seen were the bones of one man.
During the 18th of August White's daughter gave birth to a girl who was named Virginia. This girl was the first English child born in north america. White then decides to return to England to get supplies.
I think scenario 3 is the most believable. I say this because it was said that the colonists barely had any supplies which is the reason they were going back to England. If the colonists didn't have any supplies that meant that they had nothing to help them find where they ere going or possibly no food as well. The colonists could've also faced lack of clean water or weather difficulties.
