  • I'll gather fruit to eat. We can camp by the fire to stay warm.
  • Okay! I also gathered some nuts plus the animals that I hunted earlier.
  • Paleolithic Age Shelter
  • This cave was a temporary shelter because hunters and gatherers like us were nomads.
  • Nomads were people who had to move often in order to follow the wild animals herds or find new plants to eat.
  • During the Paleolithic Age, people had to hunt and gather animals like buffalo, deer and bison.
  • Neolithic Age Jobs
  • Hi I'm Neva and this is my husband, Paul. We are from the Neolithic era and we're raising animals in our farm.
  • My job in the farm is planting seeds and harvesting crops.
  • This year, our crops grew even better than last year.
  • For this food supply, they gathered berries, nuts, and plants. They also had many animals as food that they used to hunt like buffaloes, bison and deer.
  • Neolithic Age Food Supply
  • They lived in caves or rough tentlike structures as temporary shelters. They had to move often from one place to another with no permanent home.
  • Neolithic Age Shelter
  • This mud brick house gave us protection from harsh weather and wild animals that made life more comfortable.
  • I also have to say that the long lasting shelters enabled people to settle together in larger communities.
  • In the Neolithic age, people had to domesticate animals. They raised sheep, goats, and cattle for meat. Goats and cattle also provided milk.
  • For the food supply, they had crops that they grew such as wheat, barley, corn, beans, and lentils. They also began with the invention of agriculture.
  • They lived in mud brick houses that were either round or rectangular in shape and sometimes they added stones or tree branches to straighten their walls and roofs.
