Well, none of that really matters Dean, Because Hemophilia is a sex-linked inheritance
I don't understand Doc! I'm active. I eat my vegetables. I'm young. How do I have this sickness
Yes, Sex-linked, aka x-linked. Which causes inheritance of a certain trait to a certain gender. These alleles are found on x or y chromosome. In your case its found on the x chromosome and you most likely inherited the hemophilia gene from your mother.
Sex-linked Inheritance?
Well, if you're thinking autosomal inheritance, your wrong, this inheritance is when the certain allele is found on the autosome (non-sex) chromosomes.
You sure it was from my mom? Maybe it was just a DNA mixup.
Sorry, Dean, But you definitely inherited the Hemophilia allele from your mom. When you get home try making a pedigree to track the heritance pattern, check out my link to my infographic and it'll explain everything bud.
Alright, Doc, Thanks for filling me in on this information. I'm gonna be having a talk with my mom when I get home.
