  • They were surrounded by rivers so they can grow crops. And mountains, they were acting as a natural barrier.
  • Art/Architecture
  • The three main parts of the government were the Senate, the Consuls and the Assemblies. The Senate was composed of leaders from the patricians, the noble and wealthy families of ancient Rome. They were the law makers. They controlled spending. 
  • Engineering
  • Social class in ancient Rome was hierarchical, but there were multiple and overlapping social hierarchies, and an individual's relative position in one might be higher or lower than in another. 
  • Free Choice
  • Many of the art forms and methods used by the Romans such as high and low relief, free-standing sculpture, bronze casting, vase art, mosaic, cameo, coin art, perspective drawing, caricature, genre and portrait painting. 
  • The Romans are known for their remarkable engineering feats, be they roads, bridges, tunnels, or their impressive aqueducts. Their constructions, many of them still standing, are a testament to their superior engineering skills and ingenuity.
  • The Colosseum was the greatest building in Ancient Rome but much smaller amphitheaters were built in Roman Britain and gladiatorial fights may have occurred in these.
