- In the first chapter, Steven impresses his parents, his band teacher, and his brother Jeffre by playing his drum solo. After the concert Jeffre is convinced that Steven is a rockstar, and need's to tell everyone, especially Steven's biggest crush, Renne Albert.
- Hey Renne, muy brother is a ROCKSTAR!!!
- Oh really, I didn't know!
- Hush Jeffy, it's OK. You're all right...
- While Steven makes breakfast Jeffre falls from the stool and gets a nose bleed and starts to cry. Steven series to calm him down so that nobody wakes up. Then his parents woke up and realized this wasn't a normal nose bleed, and something was wrong.
- I don't want mom and dad to catch me. Oh Oh... too late.
- STEVENN!!!!!
- The mom was concerned about Jefree and took him to the hospital, and Steven was so worried the whole day. When the mom and Jeffre get home, the mom tells Steven that Jeffre has leukemia and has a little over 50% chance of living.
- Steven your brother is very sick....
- My son is bleeding profusely and you want him to get you a tissue!
- Steven gets into the whole hospital story but gets a little emotional while Jeffre's sickness is the topic. He cares deeply about his brother and is very worried.
- You do not look like a ratcoon
- Jeffrey was getting ready to go to some appointments in Philadelphia. When Jeffrey woke up he greeted Steven and then took a look in the mirror and got scared. His condition affected him in a way that he could get bruises very easily.
- Steven! I look like a ratcoon!
