  • There is no world without Verona walls!
  • After Tybalt gets angry with Romeo, a fight breaks out. However, Romeo refuses to duel, which leads to Mercutio's death. This compels Romeo to avenge his friend, but after killing Tybalt, Romeo is banished.
  • Act 3: Scene 4
  • She shall be married to this noble earl!
  • The Nurse approaches Juliet with dire news of a murder, but Juliet assumes Romeo died and lets her emotions control her. At first, when she is told that Romeo killed Tybalt, she is upset, but then she blames the Nurse for speaking poorly about Romeo.
  • Act 3: Scene 5
  • I will not marry yet, and when I do I swear it shall be Romeo!
  • Romeo runs desperately to Friar Lawrence and inquires about his punishment. After breaking down in frustration about this, the Friar shows annoyance. However, he gives Romeo a plan to visit Juliet and leave Verona.
  • Capulet tells Paris that Juliet is surely willing to marry him after such terrifying events. They determine that Paris and Juliet will marry on Thursday.
  • When Romeo sees Juliet, he says he must flee Verona. He is almost caught by Lady Capulet, who announces to Juliet that she has a death wish for him. Then, when Juliet is asked about marrying Paris, she denies, which outrages her father and confuses the Nurse.
