  • In 1730, the Acadians had sworn an Oath of Allegiance to Britain. Although Acadians signed the Oath of Allegiance to Britain in 1730, they continued to supply the French forts with food and firewood. That is when Britain made Acadians sign a new Oath of Allegiance in 1755.

  • Around 7,000 Acadians were kicked out of their homes, sent into other British colonies. (Some innocent and some who supplied the French forts.)
