  • Doctor, Tommy wants to play basketball but he is not strong enough. It seems like he has not been getting stronger either. 
  • To get bigger muscles you are going to need to eat more protein. 
  • What are proteins and what do they do?
  • Proteins build and repair body tissues, form the major parts of your hair, nails, skin. They are also the basis of all your body's cells. 
  • What are amino acids? 
  • Amino acids are the chemical building blocks. To be healthy you are going to need complete and incomplete proteins. 
  • What are those?
  • Complete proteins provide all essential amino acids. Incomplete proteins do not provide all essential amino acids.
  • What should we be eating to get all of the complete and incomplete proteins?
  • To get your complete proteins you need to eat meat, poultry and fish. To get your incomplete proteins you need to eat grains, vegetables and nuts.
