There was a set of twin brothers there names were Romulus and Remus. The twins were raised by wolves. They were fighting one day and Remus was killed by Romulus. That is how Rome got its name.
The conman people of Rome were known as the plebs. The wealthier people of Rome were known as the patricians. The Senate the most powerful body in the Roman republic. Rather than of a King the Senates elected two consuls for one year terms.
The Early Roman Empire
By 270 B.C. all the Greek cities in southern Italy belonged to Rome. With the conquest of more territory in the north in 266 B.C. Rome controlled all of Italy south of the Po River. Rome feared and resented Carthage. As a result of this rivalry the two cities fought a series of wars between 264 and 146 B.C. known as the Punic Wars

When Octavian's fleet meet Antony's fleet they had a fierce battle, and Antony abandoned his ships. Antony and Cleopatra fled to Egypt and committed suicide
