  • Ara, we need to travel immediately, possibly the earliest before the week ends.
  • Your aunt called earlier and have told me that your uncle died due to heart failure.
  • Alright mom, I'll prepare our things as soon as possible.
  • Mom, is there something wrong? Why are you crying?
  • But, mom when and where would be uncle's wake be held at?
  • How can our ancestors commemorate the dead before if there is no coffin yet?
  • It would be on our ancestral home in the province.
  • The whole family will be there in mourning for the loss of your uncle.
  • In the early 1960’s in Manunggul Cave, Lipuun Point, Palawan there is a secondary burial jar found which they also called as Manunggul jar.
  • It is painted with natural iron or hematite and on top of the jar cover or lid is a boat with two human figures representing two souls on a voyage to the afterlife.
  • What does it looks like mom?
  • It reflects and signifies our ancestors' religious beliefs or early Filipinos in life after death.
  • Thanks mom, knowing our history made me understand the beliefs of our ancestors and how it differs as of today.
