Storyboard Text

  • We will now hear from the defendant.
  • Could you explain your side of the events?
  • Yes, of course.
  • When I was approaching the stop sign, my tires hit an icy patch on the road. I had been going the speed limit, but my car did not stop. I slid through the intersection into another car.
  • Yes, I am. It easily could have happened to anyone.
  • Are you saying that this was an inevitable accident?
  • After hearing from both sides, I have decided that the defendant is responsible for 75% of the car crash. Since the road conditions were not ideal, the defendant should have been going below the speed limit.
  • $200,000 will be awarded in general damages for pain and suffering, $67,000 for loss of future income, and $1,000,000 for the cost of future care.
