"I-I don't-t have th-them."
"MY children!" "Where are my children!"
When Dupin took another step forward, he realized that the woman was not Mrs. Whitman, but the murdered woman from the bay. The woman kept asking about her children as she creeped towards Dupin. Dupin was too horrified to move.
The woman pleaded and cried, but she suddenly stopped. She looked behind Dupin, and her eyes grew wide with terror. With a scream she turned and fled.
Dupin flung himself in the opposite direction, and tripped over a fallen gravestone. After regaining his balance, he plunged forward, only to be held by powerful hands. He twisted to see who held him, and it was Throck.
