#### Storyboard Description

Anthony has a test about trigonometry, he invites his best friend ;) Abby to help him study, she gives him an easy shortcut for him to remember and Anthony is all set and ready to take the test.

#### Storyboard Text

• Hey Abby, Good to see you again! It's been a while, Thank you for coming, I really need your help!!
• Hey Anthony! I am always here for you and glad to help!
• I have this really hard Precal test and I really want to pass, I have tried to study but I just couldn't.
• Don't worry I finished precalculus last year I am pretty sure I can help!
• Okay, so the topic I am struggling with is Trigonometry, I understood the main concept but I get confused between sine cosine and the tangent.
• Ahaaa, Trigonometry has always been my favorite, working with triangle sides and angles is really fun and simple!
• Abby and Anthony are really close friends, They are of the same age and go to the same school, Anthony seems to be struggling in a topic in his Precalculus class and Abby came over to help him with it.
• I am glad to hear that you like it! So, I understand how to solve, but when I get asked to use sin cos or tan on my calculator, I can't quite figure out which to use.
• Aha I see, so it's hard for you to memorize which one to use depending on your question. I used to struggle with that too,
• It turned out that Anthony has an upcoming test that he couldn't understand. However Abby is a year older than him and she finished studying that subject, thus she will be of great help!
• Oh, that's great, can you please tell me the shortcut!
• Sure! I memorize them by the terms SOH CAH TOA. The O represent the opposite side of the angle, the H represent the Hypotenuse side of a triangle, and the A represent the adjacent side of the angle. SOA is for sine, CAH is for cosine, and TOA is for Tangent.
• However I learned it with a simple shortcut that helped me remember them.
• Trigonometry is the branch of mathematics dealing with the relations of the sides and angles of triangles and with the relevant functions of any angles.
• So if the question asks you to find the value of an angle and you have some of the sides given, you can always refer to SOH CAH TOA to help you on your problem solving!
• Oh god that just makes everything easier, they RHYME TOO! Thank you so much, you came in clutch!
• Sine is the trigonometric function that is equal to the ratio of the side opposite a given angle (in a right-angled triangle) to the hypotenuse.
• Cosine is the trigonometric function that is equal to the ratio of the side adjacent to an acute angle (in a right-angled triangle) to the hypotenuse. The tangent of an angle is the length of the opposite side divided by the length of the adjacent side.
• Now that Abby gave him an easy way to remember trigonometric functions, he feels relieved and ready to take his test. They study for a little more and end up playing together and having fun.
• Great now let's Netflix and Chill!
