The narrator arrives to "The House of Usher"because Rodrick sent him an urgent letter. When he comes up to the house he sees it in horrible condiditon
Rodrick tells the narrator that his twin sister Madeline is dying. Madeline dies and Rodrick chooses to keep her body in the vault while he plans for burial. He also doesn't let the doctors know about what happened because he doesn't want them cutting her open
After Madeline's death Poe begins to hear strange noises in the house. One night a terrible storm hit and Rodrick comes to Poe's room. They look outside to see a terrifying fog.
As the night went on, the sounds of the narrator had been hearing begin to come louder and echo. Roderick says he's been hearing the noises of his
Madeline throws herself on Rodrick and dies. Rodrick also dies from fear and shock. They both fall on the floor dead and the narrator flees out of the house with fear.
As the narrator flees the house, he turns and sees the house falling to the ground and disappearing into the thick fog. The house and the two people were completely gone.
