Rome was located where present-day Italy is. it is a peninsula in southern Europe, and the Mediterranean Sea surrounds them.

The myth of Romulus and Remus is very much a myth because the twins were left abandon on the side of a river. A wolf found and raised them and then found out they were the Prince's of the kingdom. They then moved to the castle and were debating who was to be king, when Romulus killed Remus, and Romulus became king, which is why it is named Rome.
Influence of Greek Architecture
Etruscan engineering involved Greek influence from their techniques, or way of doing something. The Romans adapted two features from the Etruscan's, the cuniculus and the arch. They built bridges, stadiums, and aqueducts all over their city.
Influence of Greek Art, Writing, and Religion
Etruscan sports were deadly battles, as the gladiators fought to death. These events included slave fights, chariot races, and in the slave fights, the winner was executed. The Romans got the idea of slave fighting from the Etruscan's.
Greek Architecture was one of the Greeks very successful things. The Parthenon, which is in Greece, has very large columns. There are 3 different types of columns, Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian.
Greek writing was only written in capitol letters, and the the Romans adapted some of their writing, but changed it up a bit. Art was displayed in homes and was very beautiful. They worshiped the same gods as the Greeks, but called them by different names, mostly planet names.
