  • Sargon and the Akkadians created the first empire and so Sargon destroyed the walls of many different city-states leaving the Akkadians defenseless.Sargon thought that without walls as a protection his people were less likely to rebel.

  • The Babylonian empire thrived under Hammurabi.He worked to unite his empire and was careful to properly maintain the irrigation systems so land remained fertile and provided enough food.

  • The Assyrian Empire lived in Mesopotamia for a long time, and made new weapons and war strategies.They believed that their kings were special beings, and they dug canals to irrigate their land and keep it fertile for farming.

  • Hammurabi was best know for his code.The code was used so Hammurabi could code the laws and to unify his empire and to preserve orders, basing on the laws not on his own merely authority.His code was from Iraq 3,768 years ago.He claims his code came from a Sun God to reinforce his power.The common rules were to maintain organization and his code was an eye foe eye and a tooth for a tooth which means that the punishments where equal.
