Yes it is but that it what it is like in Saskatchewan. did you know that in a way all this wind is actually a good thing?
How could wind be a good thing?
Well, it creates energy using big wind turbines. you may see them along the road as you are driving.
Oh yes I have seen some but, not very often. Aren't they very expensive to set up? I think that solar energy is more effective because the sun is always in the sky shining but there isn't always wind.
Wind energy is also better for the environment because it doesn't release pollutants or chemicals into the air
Wind turbines are tall right?
Generally yes but it depends on the amount of power you want the turbine to produce.
Since they are tall don't they attract lightning which can cause damage that needs to be repaired? And what about all the poor birds that get caught in the blades of the turbines?
Well there isn't much you can do about that because you cannot control the lightning or birds. You would just have to hope nothing happens.
That is a very true point but if you think about it you get the wind and sunlight for free so you only have to pay for the equipment. Overall they cost around the same because small wind turbines can operate in even the smallest breeze and even though wind doesn't blow everyday the sun doesn't shine everyday either because it could be hiding behind a cloud.
