Storyboard Text

  • The beginning stages of my writing are generally a full page layout/ skeleton of what I am planning to write, in addition to little notes, research bits and phrases I want to include.
  • Think and Brainstorm
  • In one sitting, I like to 'word vomit' my way through my first draft. I get everything on the page, not worrying about placement, diction, or anything specific at all.
  • Bust out all the information I need to include
  • I am the first to edit my first draft. Here is where I refine my basic technique and style, move things around to make more sense, and add any missing information.
  • Edit and Refine
  • After my draft is presentable, I have someone look it over and suggest tweaks on anything that needs changing.
  • Peer edits
  • My own editing and revising
  • I assess the suggestions I have been given, use the ones I agree with and alter the ones I don't to make them work.
  • Adding the final touches, polishing and fixing the last little parts that need attention throughout the piece.
  • 'Putting the jewelry on'
