Arek moved to liverpool where he and some of the boys had arrived with were able to learn a trade
Arek wrote a book called A Detail of History in 1995. He talked about his journey and how he survived.
Today Arek goes to different schools, universities and organizations to talk about is experience in the holocaust. He hopes by doing this he can help younger people make the world a better place.
Arek later discovered that only 40 people from his home town survived the war. most of them where killed in the death camps at Chelmno, including many of his family members.
Arek still lives in liver pool but is constantly traveling all over Europe
