BEEP, BEEP, BEEP! My alarm blared loudly. Groaning I got up and stretched. I got dressed and only then did I look at the time. "Oh no!" I exclaimed "It's 12:00 already!" Today was a very important day because the Imagine Dragons concert tickets were being sold only today. The lines were forecasted to be very long and the tickets were limited! Also, they opened the ticket booth an hour ago!!!
Quickly, I run into the kitchen where my mother and brother are. "Luke!" I ask my brother. "Can you prepare me some food?" "Um, no. Do it yourself." he answers. "Mom can I eat that salad?" I ask. "This is for my workers. We're having a picnic." she answers. "Oh well, early bird gets the worm." Wondering what that meant I grabbed a banana and ran out the door.
To get to the town square, which was where the tickets were sold, I had to cut through a soccer field because it was quicker. As I ran across everyone booed. "Sorry! My bad!" I called after I crossed the field. "Well we just started practice! You should have gone another way!" Quickly I keep running.
I find the ticket booth and get in line. When it's my turn I ask for one Imagine Dragons ticket. The man at the booth says, "We're sold out. Sorry ma'am." "Noooo!" I exclaim. "Are you sure?" "Suddenly, I see two of my friends, Piper and Sara, holding tickets. I run up to them and tell them I didn't get a ticket. "Too bad," said Piper. "Early bird gets the worm," said Sara. "Uggh! What does that even mean?" I ask.
We went to the nearest Steak and Shake for lunch, ordered, and while our order was getting ready they finally answered my question. "Early bird gets the worm means that someone who arrives first has the best chance for success," Sara answered. "Huh?" I say. "So, for example if you get to the movie theater earlier rather than later, you will have a better chance of seeing the previews," agrees Piper. "Understand now?"
"So wait, tell me if I'm wrong, but I probably shouldn't have hit the snooze button 5 times this morning," I start. "Yes," said Piper. "And if I were to be that early bird that gets the worm I should have gotten up at the first alarm and gotten in line right away," I finish. "Correct!" says Sara. "You learned your lesson. Now let's eat up!" THE END!
