  • Sully and Scoot are sailing, Near Baja California when  a huge wave hits     (Lines 2 - 6) "It had been born off the east coast of Australia during a violent storm it had traveled 7,000 miles at a hour a speed of 20.83 miles an hour.
  • Climax
  • The boat flipped over and scoots trapped in side the galley (Lines 78, 79, and 80) "the bow submerging and the boat going upside down taking Sully and Scoot with it the forty foot mast sail intact now pointing toward the bottom .
  • Falling Action
  • In the blackness water continued to lap at Scoots chin. She had settled against what had been the deck of the galley alcove her body upright position on debris. Lines (119-121) "In the blackness water continued to lap at scoots chin".
  • Resolution
  • Scoot was hurled upwards legs and arms flying her head striking . "she instantly blacked out". Lines (83-85)
  • On her sixth dive Scoot found a way to brace her feet against the ceiling ribs. " she pulls with all her strength and this time the window opened". (lines 367-369)
  • Almost out of breath she quickly Pushed her body through  and the old sea dog released her." Treading water beside the hull she sucked in fresh air and called out, "Sully." shivering holding each other for warmth all night they rode and rocked knowing the boat would sink in an hour.Just after dawn the red rooster saved them. LInes(371-380).
