  • Homesteading/Ranching
  • WHOOE  me and my wife just got this brand new home free
  • I'm moving to Mississippi to make my  own railroad company!
  • Impact of the Railroad
  • Boomtown/Mining
  • Thank you for my new job sir
  • No problem
  • In the early 1900' s there was a law that if you took care of 160 acres for 5 years, you could have it free. That gave lots of people the opportunity to have lots of land for housing, and farms. That is what this picture is trying to represent, people getting the land that they want.
  • Harvey Houses
  • We are now Harvey girls for this Harvey House.
  • In the late 1800's and early 1900's, the railroad company's made a major impact on America.Because it was the fastest way of travel, people would start to open them across America. My picture captures how people would be willing to move great distances to help make money, by the railroad establishment.
  • Tourism
  • Well kids this is an Indian house.
  • People would move to different states and cities, if there was a good paying position at a new company. Soon there were many towns that started, just because of one company starting up. So in my picture, I wanted to capture, the savarity of people moving to places for jobs
  • Wild West
  • Who are you?
  • Also back then, people that were usually pretty rich in their town owned Harvey Houses. These houses had maids, that were called Harvey girls. My pictutre, shows how Harvey Houses looked like,
  • People would your all across North America for places to start new business like railroad and mining business. My picture, shows a man , showing his kids an old Indian Village , that is going to make a railroad village from. That village will probably become a boom town.
  • Whoa
  • The wild west was notorious for having no rules. People would break lots of laws. My picture is a lighthearted version of this, where it is the same person saying who are you.
