  • Prohibition is when alcohol became illegal in the USA. Bars had to be shut down, so people would make secret bars, it would look like a bakery but threw a secret door there would be a bar full of people. They were called speakeasies. Everyone would go in there to have a fun time and drink. 
  • Music
  • Once alcohol was illegal, people started to sneak it around. This started the gangsters, they would sell alcohol to people that wanted it. Because people wanted alcohol so much they would pay a lot of money for it, so the gangsters would get rich. Once gangasters started to get wealthy, they started to do more crimes like graft, prostitution, and extortion.

  • In the Jazz Era, fashion became a it thing and it was the start of new trends. Girls would start showing more parts of their body, and wearing short dresses. Men would look really nice in tuxes and button downs. Flappers became a big thing in the 1920 because that was the party time.

  • Music in the Jazz Era became a big thing. Since everyone was partying, everyone wanted to dance to music.New dances came along with the new music sty A lot of jazz music and dance styles came from African American's technique. Jazz started to spread to white middle class. It was one of the most influential time for music. 
  • During the Jazz Era, F. Scott Fitzgerald was one of the best writers during that time. He served for the military for a long time, after that he met his wife Zelda Sayre. In the beginning of the marriage it was perfect but then they started to fight, cheat on each other, and jealousy was getting the best of them. She wanted to write but Fitzgerald didn't want her to take the shine off of him. They lived everywhere to Paris and New York. Zelda was declared insane. and died in a fire. 
  • The lifestyle in the Jazz Era was very upbeat. There was always a party to go to or a new dress to buy. The economy was doing amazing too. In the 1920 girls would have dress on that showed a little more than they were used to. The boys would being wearing the nicest tuxs. You would want the best designer items you could get. The music was upbeat and a different style you never heard of.
