Hey that hur... I mmmean YES SIR!!
Aww you poor thing.
Hmm what to do?
Not very good sir.
Whats going on here?
Attacks usually started with artillery fire and from the rifles came smoke after they shot black smoke, but they made it where troops could not see each other. Troops would fall over bodies of fellow soldiers in the black smoke. The attacking troops placed bayonets on their rifles charging. In the end when it ended thousands of soldiers died on both sides.
Soldiers used short ranged muskets but they would take too long to fire and when fought face-to-face they often only had time for one shot.
More then 200.000 soldiers died and more then twice died from a disease. Doctors did not have the skills to heal many of the injured and sick troops and knew little about what caused an infection. Medics used Bone saws, Bullet probes, scalples, tourniquets, and Splints. The South used tree branches, cucumbers, and a tea made from geranium.
