  • Some main characters in Jip is, Jip, Put, Sheldon, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman, The Wilkens, The Stevensons, Teacher, The Brackett boys, Slave catchers, members of Quakers. The setting if the story is on a poor farm in Vermont. It was before the civil war, and it was in the mid 1800s.
  • Climax
  • Jip didn't know what to do with the lunatic. He kept him in a closed area so he couldn't get out. There was a little trap door to send food through to get to him.
  • Falling Actions
  • One rising action was when Jip went to school even though they didn't have any text books. The Wilken's family wanted Jip to go to school with Lucy. Another was when Sheldon was working at a quarry.
  • Resolution
  • Jip wanted to leave and go to the Stevens house, so they could direct them to the Underground Railroad. He got to the Stevens house to sleep one night then Luke Stevens told him he had an option. To go without Put or go and get a head start at night in the rain.
  • Some of the falling actions were when Jip got caught by the Slave catchers. Also another was when Put sacrificed his life for Jip. He took the shot for Jip so Jip didn't die.
  • The resolution was when Jip was thinking of Put. Teacher told him that Lucy would always know Puts songs. He also thought of living on a farm with sheep and peace.
