Storyboard Text

  • After having found Mr. Wright hung the sheriff, court attorney, the neighboring farmer arrive at the house and converse with the sheriff's wife and Mrs.Hale and begin collecting evidence of Mrs. Wright having murdered her husband.
  • There doesn't seem to be anything but kitchen ware
  • The men leave the kitchen to go upstairs and further investigate the crime scene at the farm. When they leave the women begin to talk among themselves.
  • Do you think she did it?
  • Oh... I don't know.
  • While the men continue to search upstairs the women contemplate about Mr. Wright's murder. How odd and quiet the house felt, and how Mrs. Wright never left the house. All of a sudden Mrs. Hale brings up the thought that Mrs. Wright may have kept a canary.
  • That's exactly what Mr. Hale was talking about... If there was a gun then why would they hung him instead of shoot?
  • Mr. Henderson said something about needing a motive to commit the crime. Something like an outburst of anger or emotion.
  • After moving away to remove and set her tippet on a back table Mrs. Hale find a quilt that Mrs. Wright had been making but left unfinished. As the men walk away they laugh at the women as the converse over the quilt.
  • Mrs. Wright had been piecing a quilt.
  • I wonder if she was going to quilt it or knot it!
  • They are wondering if she was going to quilt or knot it! (Laughter rises out of the men)
  • When the men leave the women continue to talk about the strange feelings and happenings within the Wright house. While they talk they chose to finish Mrs. Wright's quilt and give it to her. As they begin to go through the sewing box they find a small ornate box that contained a bloody and bruised canary that was hung in a very similar fashion to Mr. Wright had been.
  •  Oh... M- Mrs. Peters... I- It's!
  • It's... The bird...
  • After finding the bird then men reappeared in the kitchen from upstairs. Upon their return the men asked if the women had figured out if Mrs. Wright had planned on quilting or knotting it. The women gave the answer that she had planned to knot it much like how she had done to her canary and husband.
  • She had been planning to "knot it".
  • Well... At least we found out how she was going to finish that quilt, but what had you called it ladies?
