Israel Palestine Conflict
This storyboard does not have a description.
On my 14, 1948 the Jewish nation of Israel was founded. On what used to be apart of the ottoman empire known as Palestine. Israel became a country over a war for independence. Known as the Arab-Israeli war. The land where Israel is founded is on top of a very religious city so both countries want Jerusalem to themselves.
In June of 1967 a six day war started and ended. Countries such as Egypt, Jordan and Syria were involved in this short war. This resulted in an Israeli victory as they capture the Gaza strip which includes east Jerusalem.
On October 6th to the 25th of 1973 there was yet another Israel-Arab war. Once again Israel came out victorious and gained 620 sq miles. This may seem minor but this stretches Israel's territory to 60 miles from Cairo.
Israel goes to south Lebanon to help them fight for independence. This goes from February of 1985 to May of 2000. This results as a loss for Israel and they flee South Lebanon.
In 2006 a second Lebanese war bursts into action. Israel is supported by the United States while the other group known as the Hezbollah is supported by countries like Iran and Syria.
Palestine is to this day known as a part of Israel and Israel continues to have conflicts with Arab countries.
