The Exxon Valdez ship spilled 11 gallons of oil in Alaska on March 24, 1989. This oil spill caused a lot of harm to the wildlife and the environment. Thankfully, people within 24 hours came and helped the sea animals. Specialists from all over the world came to clean the oil from these animals.
Otters were mostly affected by this oil spill. So, vets, wildlife Rehabilitator, marine and zoo biologists, and volunteers created a a Otter Rescue Group. In this group, people cleaned out the oil that was in the otters boddy with several washes.
People can help with these type of situations next time by getting in touch with any wildlife Foundations, Associations, and etc. A lot of animals were saved from this tragedy and this shows that human efforts.
