  • CONFLICT
  • YOU'RE MAD, CRAZY OL' BAT
  • Jew's, listen to me! The German's are almost killed me!
  • RISING ACTION
  • All Jews in the trucks! 80 a car!
  • Keep going! We're almost there!
  • Eliezer Weisel and his father, mother, and three sisters live in the Hungarian town of Sighet. Early in Elie's life, he became interested in the Jewish religion and found Moishe the Beedle who is willing to teach him.
  • CLIMAX
  • WWII has been going on for three years, and the Jews in Sighet are beginning to wonder if the Germans are going to come and take them.  Then, the Germans ordered all foreign Jews to be sent out. Moishe was able to escape and went back to Sighet to tell everyone what he saw. He tried, but no one believed him, not even Elie. Elie stopped working with Moishe
  • FALLING ACTION
  • The remaining Jews are transported into ghettos. Eventually, Shlomo Weisel learns that the Jews are going to be moved to the concentration camp Auschwitz. They are shoved into cattle cars, 80 people a car. Elie and his father were in Auschwitz for about three weeks. They were then moved to Buna where they endured and witnessed atrocious crimes.
  • RESOLUTION
  • "From the depths of the mirror, a corspe
  • In January 1945, Elie's foot became infected and he undergoes an operation. While in the hospital, he hears a rumor that when to Red Army advances the Nazi's will explode the camp. Elie was worried about his father, so he decided to be evacuated with his father. The prisoners were forced into a 50-mile death march to Buchenwald. Of 20,000 people 16,000 survived. Elie barley even himself anymore
  • They arrived at Buchenwald and Elie starts to become the dad of the actual father. Shlomo died of dysentery, starvation, and exhaustion. Elie feels guilt stricken over the relief he felt. He was moved to the children's block and lived there.
  • Don't fall asleep...or you won't wake up.
  • Elie was liberated and sent to France and put to recovery for intestinal problems. He looked in the mirror and saw nothing but a corpse
