Yeh-Shen's Home and Family
Yeh-Shen's Only Friend And Her Loss
Yeh- Shen lived in a small home with her step-mother and two-step-sisters, the family was not nice to her and was quite mean to her. They made her do all the chores and nobody else got a lick of work. They would laugh at her because she wasn't royal, and because she was their "servent"
Yeh-Shen had one friend, and that was her fish friend. She and her fish friend were very close, they both had a good friendship and Yeh-Shen would feed the fish every single day, to show how much she cared about it. And unexpectedly, one day the fish didn't come to her. She was confused, but the stepmother found out that Yeh-Shen was hiding the fish from her so the stepmother killed it.
Yeh-Shen was sad, she went to a place to bury the fish. Her family was gone, at the royal ball. Yeh-Shen wanted to go to the ball. A guy was walking by Yeh-Shen and he told her something amazing, how she can possibly go to the ball. She looked at the fish bones and made a wish, she wanted to go to the ball. The fish granted her a nice dress with gold shoes. She went to the ball and dropped her shoe before she left. The king found it, he needed a wife so went to go around looking for the girl with the right size foot. Yeh-Shen realized this and let him put the shoe on her foot. She married the king and her family stayed in their own home. Yeh-Shen and her spouse lived happily ever after.
