"And I had been laughing at him too. Suddenly, I was furious at myself and all those who were smirking at him."
I don't know
Where do you live?
I like this scene because it shows that Charlie is so determined even though he is scared. I also like this scene because it shows how he just wants to fit in and be like others. It creates sympathy for Charlie.
I like this scene because it really humbles Charlie. He realizes that he's really not better than the boy who dropped the dishes because he used to be just like him.
"I put Algernon's body in a cheese box and buried him in the backyard. I cried"
This scene really shows how Charlie is falling apart again. He became smart and learned so much but now he is going to die. It's very sad but at least Charlie got to help and live for something instead of working in a factory his whole life.
"I had a friend called Algernon once but he was a mouse and we used to run races together."
I like this scene even though it is sad. He doesn't realize that his friends aren't nice to him and they are just using him. It really shows how innocent and positive he is at the beginning.
"He said Ernie what are you trying to be a Charlie Gordon. I don't understand why he said that. I never lost any packiges."
I like this scene because it really shows all of Charlie's emotions and growth. Before, he couldn't even tell if someone was making fun of him but now, he was so attached to this mouse that he cried when it died.
This scene is also very sad. Charlie remenicients on how he used to have friends and how he used to be smart. He can't do anything about his deterioration but its nice that people still care for him.
