Mercutio then states that he will fight Tybolt. Tybolt agrees.

romeo tries to break up the fight. when moves between the two men, Tybolt accidentally stabs Mercutio.
This day’s black fate on more days doth depend. This but begins the woe others must end.
Tybolt runs away, and Mercutio tells everyone that he has been wounded.
Mercutio angrily proclaims that his death is the fault of both the Montegues and the Capulets.
Mercutio then dies and romeo knows that this is the beginning of the terrible days to come.
