  • FALLING ACTION
  • As people were called up name by name, they would either walk up confident or extremely scared. Only the man of the household was allowed to pick a lottery card, not the women or children.
  • RESOLUTION
  • Meanwhile, Mr. Adams and Old Man Warner were having a conversation about how other towns weren't stopped the lottery! Old Man Warner thought they were fools to quit so easily. "Next thing you know, they'll be wanting to go back to living in caves," hes claimed.
  • After receiving there cards, the town opened them all up and looked around to see who had the winning lottery card. Everyone looked at Mr. Hutchinson and saw the winning card but that meant he was going to be stoned.
  • Mrs. Hutchinson claimed that it was unfair and they should choose again. So instead Mr. Summer's said that him and the Mrs. can both choose one so they do and Mrs. Hutchinson got the winning card. She announced over and over that it wasn't fair, but before she could finish she was stoned in the head with the rocks.
