Chapter two is when father is in the middle of a story when taliban bust in.They then take Parvanas dad and take him brutally. Mother then gets and hits the soldiers constantly . While Parvana is frozen Nooria in the corner with a chador on and the children crying in the corner. Parvana then gets a adrenaline when the Taliba get close to the books and pushes them.She then gets beat while seeing her father getting dragged away.
In chapter three soon after the Taliban left Parvana,mother,and Nooria got up.Mother and Parvana was aching while they were cleaning up after they cleaned up they went to sleep. Parvana could not go to sleep with out the fathers snoring that meant she was safe. The next morning Parvana thought she was going to market with her mother but she said they were going to the prison Nooria said she will write a note but mother said not to. They went to the prison mother said release my husband louder and louder more Taliban gathered then Parvana shouted release my father they then were ordered to leave but refused so the got beat and left.
In this chapter Mother and Parvana get home and are exhausted from the walk from the prison. Parvana takes off her sandals and they are bloody and has blisters maryum came over and washed Parvana. Parvana sees Nooria washing Mother in the corner facing the wall. Parvana ask what is that smell it is the diapers from Ali cause they do not have alot of water. Nooria and Parvana then have no food left Parvana then gets the job to get food from the market.
In chapter five Parvana is in the market and ordering her food with out anything to cover her face. She has10 nan in her hand fresh form the oven then hears a voice behind her. Shouting hey girl the Taliban caught up to Parvana he was asking questions hitting her in the shoulder with a stick. Parvana then shouts stop hitting me then runs. She then bumped in to someone she got gripped by her she then sees it is Mrs.Weera .and Parvana then explains Weera goes home with Parvana and Weera helps the family get in order.
In chapter six Parvana is turned to a boy so they can get food for home and the children. They cut Parvanas hair off because that was the only way for her to look like a boy. She wears Hoosains clothing because the clothing for girls and boys are different. She then comes out and is sent to the market to get food for the family she feels like she is invisible because no one thought she was a girl. she gets back home from the market and is told to do her fathers job.
