Operator...I have been dialing Murray Hill 4-0098 for the last 45 minutes! Has it been busy for that long?
Yes sir, I will leave little to no blood and take all the jewelry
I want a clean kill.. make it quick and take the jewelry. Make it look like a robbery.
WHO IS THIS ?
We always have these kind of situations, and we always take care of them and prevent crimes... there is nothing to worry about.
Would you like to dial the police department
I'm sorry we can't send you a registered nurse
Mrs Stevenson, who is a self-centered, obnoxious, and ill old women, is confined to her bed as she impatiently waits for her husband. She spends most of her time calling her husband trying to locate him, who is late from work. His line was continuously busy which made her furious and more anxious as time passes.
As phones lines cross when Mrs. Stevenson was continuously dialing her husband, she overhears an odd conversation between two men planning a murder near her area. As information was stated by the men, they will murder a woman at 11 o' clock P.M. as a train passes by and make it look like a robbery. This makes Mrs. Stevenson even more uneasy and starts to panic.
*whispers* There's someone downstairs...oh no... what do i do
Mrs. Stevenson knew she needed to do something about this situation, so she explained the murder plot she overheard to a police officer and the operator. They both did not react and didn't do anything to help. She also dials a hospital and asked for a registered nurse/caretaker to give her company as she realized the reality and what is actually going on. She might be the victim of the crime...
Sorry, wrong number.
As the clock hits 11:00 P.M, the hit man later enters the dark house as Mrs. Stevenson pleads for help from the police, the hospital, her husband, and operator. As time passes by slowly until 11:15 P.M, she realizes who the victim is... it was herself (Mrs. Stevenson).
As Mrs. Stevenson talks to the operator again, she notices a strange noise coming from downstairs as someone enters her house.... having no clue what is going on. As she continues to whisper to the operator, the operator can't hear nor understand what she is saying. She dials the police department, but no one picks up.
As the scheduled train passes by, the murderer kills Mrs. Stevenson and steals all her jewelry. As the police finally answer her call, it was dead silent... the murderer picks the phone up and says mysteriously, "Sorry, wrong number." As the hit man proceeds to telling the police that everything is fine, we can infer that Mrs. Stevenson was indeed brutally murdered and her husband planned this crime all along.
