George and Lydia Hadley live in a Happy-Life House. Lydia tells George that she has a problem with the nursery - a room that has the ability to become a virtual reality-like feature and can transform into different places and different settings, such as Africa.
The Children become obsessed with the nursery and they use the lions as a symbol of their hatred towards their parents. The Children have become addicts to technology, that is so unhealthy they start to hate on people who seem like a threat to take their luxery away
The parents threaten the kids and tell them that if they do not change up the scenery of Africa, then they will shut down all of the technology inside the house and move out in order to take a vacation to somewhere else.
Takeaway About Tech
After throwing temper tantrums the children beg the parents to leave the nursery on for one last minute before they completely shut down the house. With Lydia’s urging George Hadley eventually agrees to turn on the room for one more minute of the nursery time.
The parents decided to reopen the nursery allowing the kids in for “a minute”. Then the children trick the parents into being locked up inside the nursery so that they will not be able to get back out and so that they will be “fed” to the lions inside the nursery. Then, the children have a nice lunch with David McClean: the psychologist.
Technology is not always beneficial or useful to everybody; it can lead to extreme circumstances such as death when that technology is misused.
