Good morning class, today we are going to learn about the spread of Islam.
In the 7th century, on June 8, 632 AD Muhammad a great leader had died from an illness and had let Abu Bakr rule.
When Abu Bakr started ruling, he had met the Umayyads and made a deal with them if they can help him spread.
After the Umayyads helped Abu Bakr spread, muslims wanted to split themselves into Shias and Sunnis because they had different beliefs.
When the Shias and Sunnis split the Umayyads expand Islam by moving their capital to Damascus. After a few years they decided to expand their capital to Spain and they were called Moors.
Finally after the Umayyads had their share of governing Islam, they Abbasids govern right after them.
