Beowulf vs. Grendel
Scene: Beowulf fights Grendel the man eating monster By: Adrianne Hutsell English 12 A Mrs. Castagno
The first huge thing to happen in the novel Beowulf is the fight between Beowulf and the man eating monster Grendel. During this scene Grendel has been attacking the kings golden mead hall and every one who occupies it at night.
After having a short conversation with Beowulf and listening to some of his short stories he had to tell the king Hrothgar and Beowulf came to the conclusion of letting Beowulf fight Grendel the man eating monster.
That night Beowulf and some of king Hrothgar's men stayed at the mead hall. Not long after the sun went down Grendel the man eating monster kicked down the door at the mead hall.
Grendel devours most of the men who were staying at the Golden Mead hall. Grendel and Beowulf see each other locking eyes on one another and begin to fight launching at each other. Beowulf after fighting for a while rips the monsters arm off.
After Grendel got his arm ripped of he felt ashamed and ran back to his lair. Beowulf heard more about the problems the Danish were having with this monster and decided to go to the Danes with his men and see if he could do to help them .
