Aboard a ship, Odysseus and his crew return to Circe’s island, where they experience frightening encounters, Sirens, who have beautiful voices, but cannot be heard as it is a trap so they’re must kneed thick beeswax and stuff it into their ears. Scylla, a six headed monster who has an appetite for Odysseus’ crew, takes from every ship, one man for every throat. There on after they meet a colossal tidal wave monster with teeth, named Charybdis, whose appetite is not just Odysseus’ crew, but who le ship itself.
After their long, frightening journey in the sea, Odysseus tries to persuade his men to bypass Thinacia, the island of the sun god helios, but his men insist on landing. As his men were driven by hunger, they ignore Odysseus’ idea to leave the calf and not eat them, angering the sun god, punsinung them with no sunlight if they do not pay back the loss of the cattle. To appease Helios, Zeus strikes down Odysseus’ ship, sinking and drowning his men, leaving Odysseus by himself. He eventually drifts off to Ogygia, home of Calypso, and keeps ODYSSeus for years years.
