  •                            Cause
  • All these taxes without representation makes me really mad!
  • Yeah! I know it is so annoying!
  •  Cause
  • We need to ban all trades with Britain!
  •  Most Important Event
  • We must survive!
  • Yes sir!
  • One cause was the taxes, after the French and Indian war Parliament passed several laws like the Sugar act and Stamp act in order to gain money from the colonists.  The colonists did not like these new laws and wanted representation and to be able to vote. This created a negative relation between the two nations.
  •  Most Important Event
  • Fire!
  • One cause of the war was the intolerable acts, they were a series of laws to punish the Massachusetts colony. These acts triggered the first Continental congress, at the meeting they voted to ban all trade with Britain, and came up with a strategy. This created more conflict and eventually resulted in war.
  • Outcome/Effect of the War
  • The winter at Valley Forge was a very important event because it showed nations around the world how much the army care about their freedom, independence and patriotism.  George Washington planed to camp at Valley Forge, but they were short on supplies, many of them only had blankets to wear. A quarter of them died form the cold or diseases.
  • Outcome/Effect of the War
  • The battle of Yorktown was the last major battle in the American revolution. The American army and their French ally bombarded Yorktown with cannons in October 19,1781 Cornwallis surrendered with 8,000 men.
  • The eight years of war resulted in many deaths for both nations. 25,700 Americans died in the war, and 1,400 were missing. The British had about 10,000 soldiers that died in the war. America had a debt of $27 million, many loyalist lost their property, and from 60,000 and 100,000 Loyalists left the U.S. Many civilians from the British side suffered from their loss.
  • English citizens wanted republicanism after the war, instead of the kind the people would rule. Americans wanted more problems to be fixed like, more religious freedom and slavery.  The U.S had to figure out how to build their government, a government that would protect citizens and their freedom.
