Storyboard Text

  • Hi, I’m sodium, who are you?
  • My name is Nitrate
  • Together we make sodium nitrate!
  • What?
  • Wait!! I'm potassium. please  move out of the way. I'm stronger than you!
  • Hmmm..
  • The This is the element and compound that is first introduced into the story, The Chemical formula for nitrate is NO3- and the Chemical formula for sodium is Na.
  • oh no! not again.
  • I'm copper,  potassium is for me.
  • After sodium and nitrate have been chemically combined, a new compound would be formed called sodium nitrate. The Chemical formula for sodium nitrate is NaNO3.
  • hu hu hu!
  • Why not me?
  • A new element was added called potassium. As a result of this, a displacement reaction occured as. Potassium displaced nitrate as potassium is a more reactive metal than sodium. I also know that potassiam is more reactive than sodium as it is 1st in the reactivity series.
  • Great Choice!
  • A new elements called copper comes in and wants potssium but she is unable to displace potassium as copper is less reactive than potassium.
  • Earlier on, sodium was displaced by potassium and copper came and attempted to displace potassium but was unsuccessful as potassium is still more reactive than sodium and copper.
  • At the end, potassium and nitrate are together and no one was able to displace potassium. Now it is clear that potassium is the most reactive metal in the series. Together, they combine to make potassium nitrate ( KNO3)
