  • "Fair is foul,and foul is fair" (1.1.12)
  • "All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter" (1.3.53)
  • "The Thane of Cawdor lives/Why do you dress me in borrowed robes?"(1.3.114-115) 
  • The witches foreshadow the intentions of Macbeth. 
  • "That I may pour my spirits in thine ear" (1.5.29).
  • Macbeth hears his prophecy declared by the witches
  •  "Look like th' innocent flower, but be the serpent underneath"  (1.6.76-77).
  • Macbeth is shocked by the news of his new title, because it was another prophecy from the witches, that's coming true. 
  • "Come, you spirits/ That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here" (47-48).
  • Come, you spirits...
  • Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth that she will direct his actions, in order to achieve their power. 
  • Lady Macbeth and Macbeth appear pleasant to hide their true, dark intentions. 
  • Lady Macbeth wants to remove any humanity left in her, so she can reach her true potential of darkness.
