After the Lastergionans, they end up on Circe's Island. The men go to find food and something pops up.
The men get tricked by Circe into eating her food which she drugged which turn them into Lions and a scout comes back to report to Odyessus.
Circe has them eat her drugged cheese and wine and the men are turned into Lions while she watches.
"We reached the Aeolian island next, the home of Aeolus, Hippotas' son, beloved by the gods who never die a great floating island it was, and round it, all huge ramparts rise of indestructible bronze and sheer rocks cliffs shoot up from sea to sky.(Book 10 Lines 1-5, Homer)
Eurlochyrus comes to run back to the shore to tell the men that their poor friends had been turned into pigs by the witch Circe.
"So they came nuzzling round my men-lions, wolves with big powerful claw-and the men cringe in fear at the sight of those strange, ferocious beasts..."(Book 10 line 238 , Homer)
The messenger god, Hermes is giving Odysseus a potent drug that its power will shield you from Circe drug and also told him to stab her when she open.
"She ushered them in to sit on high-backed chairs, then she mixes them a portion --cheese, barley, and pale honey mulled in Pramnian wine--but into the brew, she stirred her wicked drugs...all of them bristling into swine--"(Book 10 Line 256-283, Homer)
"Back Eurylochyus ran to our swift black ship to tell the disaster are poor friends have faced." (Book 10 Line 269-270, Homer)
"...as I was nearing the halls of Circe skilled in spells, approaching her palace-Hermes...crossed my path,...'have you come to set them free?... I can save u...Look, here is a potent, drug...Its power alone will shield you...The moment Circe strikes with her long thin wand, you draw your sharp sword...and...run her through!' "(Book 10 Lines 304-327, Homer)
" 'Circe turns the pigs into back into men but put them in a trance . They stay for one year, until Odysseus finally begs her to let them go home.'"(Collections Page 387, Homer)
He stays with her for one year and Circe lets all the men and Odysseus go to the land of the dead in order to get the prophet.
