According to history.com, George Washington Carver was born in the 1864 , however, the exact date of his birth is unknown. He was born into slavery in a farm in Diamond, Missouri owned by a white farm owner named Moses Carver. Moses Carver was against slavery but needed support in Maintaining his 240-acre farm.

According to History.com Despite his work at the farm he was still heavily interested in fungicides and soil conditioners. This interest led to him being called the plant doctor in his local community and according to history.com his ability to give proper recommendations on how to maintain and improve the health of their gardens and fields at the age of 11. This interest followed him through his childhood.

According to History.com.Carver chose a career in Botany. Carver Wanted to pursue his interest in Botany, So he went to the University of Iowa. After Carver graduated from the University of Iowa he took Booker T. Washington's offer to work at Tuskegee institute and thought agriculture.
According to history.com he took Brooker T Washington's offer to work at the Tuskegee institute however his agricultural course was not popular due to the fact white farmers believed that they knew everything on how to farm and students saw education as a way to get out of the Farm life.
