This battle was called " the battle of Kings Mountain". It was also known as " the turning point in the war" because that day Sir Frederick Hambright lead the colonist to victory.
William Campbell was the leader for the patriots the day of the battle. It was a very specific battle only because , it was thought that British were going to win the battle since the British were on top of the hill , it really wasn't a mountain but it was called "kings Mountain". Until shots were fired.
During the war the patriots started to shoot around 3:00 pm. And usually the leader would last till the end of the war, but in this battle Sir Ferguson was killed , by one of the patriots.
As soon as shoots were fired and sir Patrick Ferguson had died and the British had no other chance than to surrender because they could not fight without a leader , and also could not invade north Carolina without a leader. So they surrendered.
Sir William had won the battle of Kings Mountain. At that point in the war it was considered " The turning point in the war."
After the battle of Kings Mountain the Colonist started to win the battles. The colonist started to have faith in themselves. The British lost control of the Carolina's or more specific South Carolina.
