It was brilliant, and the sandy cove It circled gently in the waves All miserable in the boring cove And the fools wrath outrage.
Beware the Jabberwocky, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and ignore The furious Bandersnatch!
He took his violent sword in hand; Long time the man foe he sought So rested he by the Tumtum tree And stood awhile in thought
And, as in foolish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came flying through the tangly wood, And bled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through The violent blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galloping back.
And have they killed the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my cheerful boy! O wonderful day! Callooh! Callay!
He laughed in his joy.
