  • Rome began as a tiny village along the Tiber River.  they were surrounded by rivers and mountains to protect all the people from foreign invasions

  • The Romans established a republic, a government in which citizens elected representatives to rule on their behalf. The aristocracy dominated the early Roman Republic. In Roman society, the aristocrats were known as patricians.

  • Rome empire had grown so vast that it was no longer feasible to govern all the provinces from the central seat of Rome. the Emperator divided the empire into halves with the

  • The Romans used the arch a lot. The arch was regarded very highly because it was seen as somewhat divine since it had a curved top that never fell in and was very sturdy. 
  • The Colosseum is one of the world's most magnificent pieces of architecture. The Colosseum was constructed between A.D. 70 and 80 under three Fl avian emperors: Vespasian, Titus, and Dominion. 
  • the roman army, arguably one of the longest surviving and most effective fighting forces in military history, has a rather obscure beginning.
